Wall Art Size Calculator

Compare canvas dimensions with a measured wall or furniture width. Calculate coverage, suggested size ranges, and hanging height in inches or centimeters.

The interactive tool compares artwork width with a measured wall or furniture reference.

How to compare wall art sizes

  1. Measure the usable wall width and height.
  2. Enter the canvas or framed artwork’s edge-to-edge dimensions.
  3. Select the furniture below the artwork and enter its width.
  4. Review the scaled comparison, width coverage, and suggested starting range.

Wall art sizing starting points

For a single piece above furniture, 60–75% of the furniture width is a useful comparison range. For an open wall, start around 50–75% of the usable wall width. These are flexible design guidelines, not fixed rules.

Open-wall comparisons begin near a 58-inch center height. Furniture comparisons leave roughly eight inches between the furniture and artwork.
